Joan E. Emick

Joan Emick went to be with the Lord on Feb.7, 2026 due to heart that was too tired to go on. Her immediate family consisted of her faithful friends Sheila Mott her housemate, Cricket and Tom her loving cats and Lexi and Bella her devoted dogs. We all miss her.                                                                                                         

Joan was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Philadelphia and then National Park N.J. where she lived with her mother Virginia Emick (Banzoff); and her father Fred Emick until their passing.                                      

She worked for Social Security in Philadelphia for 24 years and then left and went to Gloucester County College School of Nursing where she earned her R.N. Her career in nursing started at Meadowview Nursing Home in Williamstown, N.J. and then ended at Voorhees Pediatric Facility in Voorhees, N.J. when she retired. Earlier in life she was an EMT with Washington Township Ambulance Squad for many years.                                                                                                                                                                                                  

She is survived by a cousin Dennis Emick and his family Jane Emick and Todd Emick from Williamstown, N.J.                                                                    

Joan was a woman of great faith. She was a wonderful listener and LOVED LIFE. She shared her faith through her actions and loved everyone she met. Even though she didn’t want to leave us we know she is happy and laughing in heaven which gives us all peace knowing we will see her again someday.
